Discover the prettiest scenery of Switzerland by bicycle, the most pampered means of transport in this country. Pedaling by the banks of the river Rhine, through vineyards, contemplating the Alps, picking fruit on your way, swimming in the lakes or watching the green prairies. The old city of Rapperswil-Jona will be our base camp and is considered one of the jewels on the shore of Lake Zurich.
Enjoy riding on the bicycle lanes, that is Switzerland on bike. We will be staying in Rapperswil-Jona, a mediaeval town with a castle, on the shores of the lake of Zurich. Rapperswil-Jona is strategically situated, near this modern and important city: a financial centre and admired European region, situated among the Alps and the plateau. It enjoys the best climate in Switzerland and it is the ideal place to approach the different tours, at different levels or by the lakes or the Rhine. With our local guide everything is easy and amusing.
You don't have to worry about anything, we will take you to the main spots and will make the most out of this bicycle paradise, where cyclists have their own ways. What´s more, in August climate is ideal.
Starting point of your bike tours is in Rapperswil-Jona at Lake Zurich. At the lake promenade near the medieval old city you nearly feel like at the Mediterranean Sea. And also the wine region has its own charm. You visit Lake Walensee, the boarder to Glarnerland, you attend a wine tasting and explore the monastery. A really diversified bike week with many highlights is awaiting you.

Tour course
Day 1: Individual arrival to Rapperswil-Jona
In the evening welcome briefing and distribution of rental bikes.
Day 2: Loop tour Lake Greifensee approx. 55 km/34 miles
Enjoy your tour around Lake Greifensee today. This area is a popular recreation area, therefore lots of great bike paths are waiting to be explored by bike. On the return journey a wonderful mountain panorama is accompanying you.
Day 3: Rest day
Zurich can be reached within 25 minutes by train. Visit the church and enjoy the view over the city, stroll through Niederdorf or explore the diversified art as well as the nightlife.
Day 4: Monastery Einsiedeln approx. 44 km/28 miles
You cycle mainly via the bank to Pfäffikon and on to the monastery. At 2 p.m. you can attend a guided tour through the monastery, where you can marvel at the Black Maria. Your return journey offers great views onto beautiful Lake Zurich.
 
Day 5: Wine tour Zürcher Oberland approx. 40 km/25 miles
Along the right bank of the so-called gold coast you pass precious country houses which prevent the view onto the lake. In Stäfa we have organised a wine tasting in restaurant Frohberg for you. Afterwards you continue along the waterside to Meilen. Via Mönchaltdorf you reach Rapperswil again.
 
Day 6: Tour to Walensee approx. 56 km/35 miles
This region offers an imposing landscape. You cycle to Lake Walensee and enjoy the view over this mysterious water. Optional you can also go by boat to Walenstadt. Return journey as well by boat or by bike to Rapperswil.
Day 7: Departure or additional stay
 
A unique experience to get acquainted with one of the most beautiful regions in Switzerland enjoying gorgeous family friendly bicycling trails along lakes and rivers always offering the possibility of a refreshing bath or a memorable picnic.
