Segovia bicycle tours - bicycle Segovia and surrounds
Meeting point: at Bravo Bike’s office’s at calle (street) Juan Alvarez Mendizabal, no. 19. Close to the Plaza de España in Madrid city centre.
Tour description: From Madrid we transfer in our minibus to the Royal Sites of La Granja de San Ildefonso 90 km to the north of Madrid, a one-hour journey. Here we stop first to visit the beautiful palace grounds and fountains, and afterwards a fascinating nearby glass factory museum. Our cycling route begins here and takes us towards the city of Segovia following a comfortable cycling lane. On arrival in the city, our first imposing sight is that of the gigantic and perfectly preserved Segovia Aqueduct, a marvel of Roman construction with 166 arches, and with few comparable examples elsewhere in the world. We stop for lunch at a restaurant specialised in roasts of suckling pig ,baby lamb and Segovian beans, simple but exquisite delicacies of the Segovia region. The restaurant’s terrace provides us with a splendid view of the spires of the late gothic cathedral and the city’s main square. After lunch, we cycle on to the Alcazar, the fortress at the western extreme of the old city, and afterwards incorporate visits to several other historical monuments and landmarks such as the San Lorenzo square, the monastery of Santa Maria del Parral, the Segovia Mint all along the banks of the Clamores and Eresma rivers.
At the end of our tour, we transfer back to Madrid to our offices, where you will receive your complimentary CD-album of the photos taken during the tour.
Alternative Cycle Tour: another option, but only for advanced cyclists, is to cross the "Guadarrama Sierra" range, starting our ride with a steep uphill climb from the town of Cercedilla, reaching the Fuenfría mountain pass and then downhill to Valsain, "La Granja" and on to the city of Segovia. A great experience with some off-road tracks, but superb views all the way. The 9 kms (6 miles) ascent is followed by a welcome descent of 14 kms (9 miles), partly on forest tracks and paved roads. Total distance approx. 40 km/25 miles with one strenuous climb, long downhill followed by rolling terrain. We use 27-gear Merida TFS 500 mountain bikes equipped with disc brakes.
These are one of the most beautiful bike tours in Madrid’s surrounding region and can also be organized for families with children, incentive travel projects, and corporate excursions. We will always be flexible in adapting to our customers’ needs and wishes.

Start Times: Any day, on weekends any other Spanish holiday, there is a supplement of Euro 15 pp. A minimum of 4 participants is required.
Included in the price for the one day cycle tour for a minimum 4 people*:
- Full day guided trip (9.00 am to 7.00 pm), approx. 35 km/22 miles cycling, suitable for people with a basic level of fitness and cycling proficiency.
- Transport from our office by our minibus to La Granja (a royal palace) close to Segovia and back to the hotel ( 1 hour each way by road)
- Rental of 27-gear Trek hybrid bikes, helmets and technical support, water & snacks
