Lake Garda by bicycle

Formed as a stunning result of the last glaciation, the enchanting attractiveness of Lake Garda has enraptured all its visitors even beginning with its first illustrious tourist and promoter in 1786: Wolfgang Goethe.

You will ride for approximately 170 km in 4 stages, all the routes are on rural/secondary roads or cycle paths in the area of Garda Lake. The entrance to Verona has slightly more traffic but only for a short stretch.

Bike itinerary

1st Day: Peschiera del Garda.
Arrival in Peschiera del Garda, a veritable city-fortress completely surrounded by water, an architectural jewel of art and culture.



2nd Day: Round tour (35 km/22 miles)
First day on bike among fruit plantations and vineyards of the eminent Lugana still white wine, characteristic of this region. You arrive in Solferino, site of the famous battle that ended the Second War of Independence.


3rd Day: Peschiera del Garda– Desenzano del Garda (45 km/28 miles)
Today you ride to Desenzano and then make a round tour on the sweet moranic hills. For the less athletic, the town offers many chances to relax on the banks of the lake. Transfer by train from Desenzano to Peschiera for the night.




4th Day: Peschiera del Garda
Day of rest and relax. Use the opportunity for a visit to the walled city and its lake. Alternative excursion to Sirmione by public transportation.

5th Day: Peschiera del Garda–Verona (35 km/22 miles)
Pedal towards Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet; this is one of the most beautiful cities in Veneto. Don’t miss the roman Arena, the stunning Church of San Zeno and Juliet’s House. Transfer back to Peschiera by train.

6th Day: Peschiera del Garda– Mantova (50 km/31 miles)
An evocative route which is suitable for everyone along one of the most famous cycle paths of Italy. From Lake Garda to Mantova between the provinces of Verona and Mantova inside the Regional Nature Park of the river Mincio. Transfer back to Peschiera by train.

7th Day: Peschiera del Garda
