Description of the Tour
Day 1: bus or train trf Budapest – Tiszafüred
Day 2: Tiszafüred-Tiszaderzs-Abádszalók-Kisköre (30 kmts, 18,6 miles)
Day 3: Kiskorë-Tiszanána-Poroszló-Tiszafüred. (30 Kmts, 18,6 miles)
Day 4: Tiszafüred-Tiszabábolna-Tiszavalk-Négyes-Poroszlö-Tiszafüred (48 kmts, 28.5 miles)
Day 5: Tizafüred-Tiszacsege-Tiszaújvaroa (45 kmts, 27,9 miles)
Day 6: Tiszaújváros-Tiszavasvári (35 kmts, 21,7 miles)
Day 7: Tiszavasvári-Hortobágy (54 kmts, 33,5 miles)
The first six days of the program cover the area surrounding Lake Tisza and the 240 kilometres (149.1 miles) itinerary is a full circle around the lake. Apart from cycling the discovery of the local flora and fauna adds additional excitement to the program, with optional boat trips on the lake for example. The natural reserves blend in with holiday resorts where guest can enjoy well-maintained beaches and their additional services. Museums, traditional farm houses and protected architectural sites offer various opportunities for those who are interested in local history or traditional art forms. The itinerary runs on flat terrain and does not need any great strenght or experience.
Day 8: Hortobágy- Hortobágy (National Park) 40 kmts (24,8 miles)
Leaving Lake Tisza behind, we arrive at the Hortobágy National Park, which is the first and the largest national park in Hungary and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999.
Traditional Hungarian animals, local bird colonies and rare plants are all contribute to the unique experience of Hortobágy. The tour runs on flat terrain only, but trees and shade are seldom around. Make sure you bring and drink enough water!
Day 9: Hortobágy-Hajdúszobosló (30 kmts, 18,6 miles)
The day ends at Hajdúszoboszló, where our guests might possibly spend more than a day to enjoy the hospitality of local spas and refresh themselves after the days of cycling.
Overnights in Hajdúszoboszló
Possible extension in Hajdúszoboszló, in a spa village.
