Schedule

First day :
The crew welcomes you aboard the ship and shows you around. Cabins are assigned and you are free to unpack your luggage and settle in. Departure will be the next day, so this is an ideal opportunity to visit Amsterdam. When you go ashore you’ll find yourself almost immediately in down-town Amsterdam. Worth visiting are: the Anne Frank House, the museum of wax figures Madame Tussaud, the Rijksmuseum, the Maritime Museum, the Vincent van Gogh Museum, the numerous markets (especially on Saturdays), the Aviodome, a diamond cutter etc. And of course a trip with a canalcruise boat is a nice experience
Second day :
We leave Amsterdam and sail eastwards. After passing through the Oranjesluizen (locks), we enter the Markermeer on our way to the Randmeren. This is an extensive lake district between the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ land. Having passed the island Pampus, the stately castle Muiderslot is visible at starboard. Muiden and the fishing-village Spakenburg are quite near. At choise the last village can be visited. After this stop-over we continue to Harderwijk, a former fishing-town situated on the former Zuiderzee., where we will stay for the night. There is an attractive, small inner harbour and boulevard. The main attraction is the Dolfinarium, where at regular times shows are performed by dolfins and seals.
Third day :
After breakfast we leave Harderwijk and sail to Elburg. If weather permits, it is possible to drop anchor in order to swim or relax on a beach nearby. Elburg too used to be a fishing-town situated on the former Zuiderzee. The arrival in the harbour with a view on the Visserspoorten (fisher-men’s gates) is really magnificent. Within the town-walls you’ll find many monuments of cultural-historical value, e.g. the Gemeente-(=town-) and organ-museum in a restored monastery, the fishing-museum, the guncellars, the St.Nicolaas Church and windmill ‘De Tijd’.
Forth day :
Today is our last sailing day on the Rand-meren. On the way it is possible to stop and swim or visit the Ketelhaven-museum. In this museum you’ll see ships and all kinds of objects that were found when the ‘new’ land was reclaimed from the sea. We continue up the river IJssel and after one hour we approach the Hanseatic town of Kampen. The old town centre is well worth visiting. Several of the old town-gates are still intact, there are the St. Nicolaaskerk, the Tobacco Museum, grain- and coppermill d’Olde Zwarver and lots of other ancient buildings.
Fifth day :
If there is not too much wind, we will sail on the IJssel-meer during the last two days of our trip. We cross the IJsselmeer to Enkhuizen, where the night will be spent. Enkhuizen had its boom in the seventeenth century. In those days the Dutch trading company VOC had its headquarters in Enkhuizen. The Zuiderzee museum is housed in some former warehouses.of this company This museum is partly an open-air museum, this part shows how people used to live and work in villages around the Zuiderzee (which is now called IJsselmeer). Also worth seeing are: an ancient lockhouse in which you’ll find a unique exposition of miniature ships in bottles, the Dromedaris (a tower), the Stedelijk Waagmuseum (an ancient weighhouse with expositions of the instruments and books of the Enkhuizen guildship of chirurgeons and an eighteenth century delivery room) and the Koepoort (a town-gate). It is also possible to visit the local swimming-pool or the beach at the IJsselmeer.
Sixth day :
Today we sail the Markermeer and head for Marken or Volendam. Marken, a former fishing-village situated on the Gouwzee, is famous for its attractive harbour and its remarkable houses: it is a delight to wander through the church- and harbour-district with its maze of tiny alleys. Situated on the other side of the Gouwzee is Volendam, which - unlike Marken - is still a fishing-village. In the harbour you’ll see fishing-boats and a lot of activity is going on. Those who like eating fish ought to taste a smoked eel from the IJsselmeer. In Volendam as well as in Marken people wear their traditional costumes on Sundays and on public holidays. Fishing-techniques and costumes are exhibited in the Volendam museum.
Seventh:
Today we leave for Amsterdam, where we shall be mooring near the central railway-station.
