The "Classic" bike tour from Passau to Vienna

The most famous cycle tour in Europe: From Passau to Vienna along the beautiful and majestic Danube! Discover a wonderful landscape, picturesque and quaint villages, vibrant cities and be impressed by the uncountable sights of Vienna. The Austrian hospitality and the Austrian cuisine will make this trip an unforgettable experience. Shortly after leaving the Bavarian city of Passau you reach the densely wooded green hills of the Upper Danube Valley in Austria and the famous meander of Schlögen. Linz, Upper Austria´s capital with its baroque city center, the large market square4 and its museums are well worth a visit. After passing the Machland, the Danube Valley gets narrow again: you are entering the mystic Strudengau. The mayor village here is Grein, famous for its theathre-the oldest in Austria- and its castle. The well renowned Wachau (declared as an UNESCO world heritage in 2001)offers numerous sights. Castles high above the bike path, vineyards and cosy landscape, unique in Europe. Not to forget the wine taverns "Heurigen" where you can taste the excellent local wine. Vienna, the Danube metropolis, offers a lot of sights and interesting places.
